Easily the most infamous scene in this movie is the moment where The Joker and his goons vandalise the Gotham Museum of Art, all while they dance along to a Prince song that one of the poor henchmen has to play on a comically oversized boombox. It's all extremely cringe-worthy and sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the film, which given how goofy some other scenes are is really saying something. Hell, even Tim Burton would later admit that he didn't much care for how the Prince songs fit into the final film, and there's no worse example than this tonally jarring embarrassment. To his credit, Nicholson is as committed to the scene as any other, but it's still difficult to reconcile how absurdly ill-advised the whole idea was.
