20 WTF Moments From Tim Burton's Batman

16. Bruce Wayne Has Sight Problems

Though Burton demonstrated throughout his Batman movies that he didn't much care for sticking faithfully to the source material, one of the more peculiar and totally unnecessary affectations he gave Batman was that he has sight problems. Bruce can be seen wearing glasses several times throughout the film, and though Burton was perhaps trying to ground Wayne as a character, it did raise one logical question: how does Batman deal with these sight issues when he's suited up? Is he wearing contacts or what? And if Bruce gets an eye infection, does that mean he can't fight crime for a week or two? The filmmakers didn't learn their lesson, though, because Bruce continued to wear glasses in Batman Forever, before the idea was finally ditched in Batman and Robin (one of the movie's few good decisions) and hasn't returned since.
