Because what's the point marketing a film at children if you can't include a bunch of sexual innuendo with that surprisingly permissive PG-13 rating, right? When reporter Alexander Knox first meets photographer Vicki Vale, he says to her, "If you want me to pose nude, you're gonna need a long lens", and when they're both at Bruce Wayne's soiree later, he comments on Bruce's large antique collection, saying, "He probably does it to get chicks. They like him for his big charity balls." Sure, they're both innocuous enough that they'd probably fly over the heads of most kids, but even so, it's still kinda icky putting such crude gags in a comic book movie that millions of kids went to see. Was it necessary? Not in the slightest, and the movie was already entertaining enough that it didn't need a bunch of in-jokes for the adults.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
