Worst Plot Twist: John Harrison Is Khan - Star Trek Into Darkness

There are a number of things wrong with this plot device, please delete where applicable. One; does he really need to be Khan other than to tie this in to the revised Star Trek canon of the rebooted franchise? Second, anyone with a passing interest in movie news read that they were looking to cast a Hispanic actor for the role before Benedict Cumberbatch landed it, which had many people pretty sure that Khan was the villain before the movie even started shooting. Third, every time someone asked a member of the production 'is Khan the villain?' they would always say no, he most definitely is not. You watch the movie, he is Khan, and you kinda go 'Oh, right.' In recent interviews, even JJ Abrams has admitted the reveal was mishandled. And fourth, which affected anyone who didn't have a knowledge of Star Trek history, was 'who the hell is Khan?'. I heard a huge number of people in the theater turn to the person next to them and say 'who?', which isn't the reaction a major plot twist should have on an audience. And of course, Zachary Quinto's cringe-inducing 'KHAAAAAAAAN!' was more hilarious than anything else. JJ Abrams, I admire your efforts to maintain secrecy on your projects, but you dropped the ball on this one I'm afraid. Runner-Up: Tom Cruises Destroyed The World - Oblivion
Joseph Kosinski's visually stunning but thematically empty movie is a mildly diverting piece of sci-fi entertainment, which completely loses its way with a ludicrous plot twist. Long story short; after being led to believe that humans were wiped out after launching nuclear attacks on alien invaders, Cruise's Jack Harper discovers that he is actually a clone himself, thousands of which were created by a giant sentient space cube that apparently harvested Earth's natural resources, despite the fact there are still such things as clouds and rain. Yep. When the first clone appears, you go 'Huh?'. When the twist is revealed, you simply go 'Ugh'.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
