10 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed
1. Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy
And finally, we have the upcoming fourth Bridget Jones movie, Mad About the Boy.
While we can't ding this sequel too much for being belated - after all, the surprisingly solid threequel Bridget Jones's Baby came 12 years after the second film - it nevertheless happens to be adapted from by far the most polarising book in Helen Fielding's novel series.
The death of a certain fan favourite character casts a dark pall over the story, and while it's possible that Fielding has reworked the film to address the divisive response to the source material, from the cast list we've seen so far, it's looking like that death just might stick.
Combine this with the fact that Universal is sending the film direct to streaming the very same day it hits cinemas in the U.S., and it's easy to believe that this will be both critically divisive and post the lowest box office grosses of the franchise.
