20 Incredible Recent Movies That FLOPPED

Now in fairness, none of Adam Carter Rehmeier's previous films have managed to hit at the box office, but there was hope that the Dinner in America and Snack Shack filmmaker might finally strike gold with his new crime thriller Carolina Caroline.

After all, this is by far his most accessible and star-studded film to date, pairing the much-loved Kyle Gallner and Samara Weaving as scam artist lovers who travel through the American South doing crimes.

Even with strong reviews, though, the film failed to take flight during its limited 243-theater release in North America, grossing just shy of $400,000 - a little less than Rehmeier's previous film Snack Shack.

While few were expecting gangbusters figures here, considering the cult fandom of Rehmeier, Gallner, and Weaving, it's a damn shame this couldn't at least crack a few million.

Like the filmmaker's other movies, though, hopefully it'll enjoy a rediscovery on streaming.
