20 Upcoming Horror Movies That Might Surprise You
18. Faces of Death
When a remake of the infamous 1978 exploitation horror film Faces of Death was announced, many questioned precisely what form it would take.
After all, the original film was a fake documentary which contained a mixture of staged and real depictions of people dying, the likes of which would be considerably trickier to make and distribute today.
But Faces of Death 2026 is actually something of a meta-sequel to the original film, revolving around the moderator of a YouTube-like platform (Barbie Ferreira) who discovers a group of people who appear to be re-enacting the most "iconic" death scenes from the '78 film.
That's a far more interesting premise than anyone could've reasonably expected from a new Faces of Death movie, and while few were crying out for a new take on such a dubious IP, the fact that it's been co-written and directed by Daniel Goldhaber - behind the brilliant Cam and How to Blow Up a Pipeline - makes it far easier to be optimistic.
