20 Wild Theories For Upcoming Movies
5. Robin Plays A Crucial Role - The Batman Part II
Few films have been more intensely speculated about than The Batman Part II, in large part because it's been more than four years since the release of the first film and the sequel still hasn't started shooting.
There are countless prominent theories about various story directions it will take, then, and one of the more intriguing suggests that writer-director Matt Reeves will introduce Bruce Wayne's ward Dick Grayson aka Robin.
Though Robin is one of the most iconic Batman characters, he hasn't been depicted in a live-action movie for almost an entire 30 years since 1997's Batman and Robin, with the character sitting out both Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and the DC Extended Universe.
It certainly feels beyond time for Robin to return, then, and it goes without saying that giving Bruce a young charge to look out for would only further his burgeoning status as a beacon of hope at the end of Reeves' first film.
But Robin is also a tricky character to pull off, especially within Reeves' extremely grim vision of Gotham, and tellingly, producer James Gunn straight-up called Robin's inclusion "nonsense" last August.
All the same, with how long the film has been in development and how much things can change during pre-production, some fans remain hopeful that they'll get at least a glimpse of Robin in The Batman Part II.
