20 Recent Movie Rumours That Were Total BULL
13. Ash Makes A Cameo - Evil Dead Burn
The Rumour:
Last year, word started doing the rounds in the Evil Dead fandom that the new film Evil Dead Burn would feature a cameo from original franchise stalwart Bruce Campbell, potentially sowing the seeds for Campbell's Ash to make a more substantial appearance in a future Evil Dead crossover movie.
The Truth:
This one was easy to disbelieve, honestly, given that Campbell announced his retirement from playing Ash in live-action form shortly after the cancellation of the TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead in 2018, stating a desire to "tap out" before he came a "geezer."
And though he had an uncredited voice cameo in previous film Evil Dead Rise, it was more a fun Easter egg than anything.
This is all to say, Campbell doesn't appear in Evil Dead Burn at all, either as Ash or any other random, Easter egg-y character, while recently confirming that he has indeed fully retired from playing Ash even in voiceover form.
