21 Incredibly Obscure Marvel Movie Easter Eggs

1. Human Torch Cameo - Captain America: The First Avenger

At the Stark Expo sequence in Captain America's first cinematic outing, there's a brilliant Easter egg that's pretty much the definition of hiding in plain sight.

An establishing shot lingers on a retro red suit, which to most just seems like a standard old-school superhero costume, but note that the suit is labelled as "Phineas Horton Presents The Synthetic Man".

The Synthetic Man is also known as the original Human Torch, an android that would burst into flames. The character quickly fell into obscurity, however, before being resurrected as the human Fantastic Four member Johnny Storm.

The connection here, of course, is that Chris Evans played the Human Thorch in the two Tim Story Fantastic Four movies in the mid-2000s, and including the hero here in a more primitive way was a sly way to pay tribute to Evans' prior history in the genre.
