21 Things Horror Movies Ruined For Every One

7. Summer Camps

Notable Offenders: Friday the 13th (1980), The Burning (1981), Sleepaway Camp (1983) If you've been to summer camp, then you€™re not surprised when you hear about the benefits of attending such a camp. Experiencing life at camp yourself as a child, you know the profound positive effects that still matter to you as an adult. At camp you get to meet new people, shed your awkwardness (that most children have), plays tons of games, and if you're old enough (and lucky enough) maybe you can even hook up with the opposite sex for the first time. However, horror movies paint a very different picture for camp attendees and (especially) counselors. In nearly any Friday the 13th movie it's an instant death sentence if you even step foot in a summer camp. In a horror movie you'd be better off spending your summer working at Dairy Queen.
