Hugo Weaving is another who has famously stated that he didn't enjoy working with Marvel. He portrayed the villainous Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger but, in spite of the fact that he was contracted to more than one movie, he said he didn't plan on portraying the character again, thanks to his experiences on the shoot. He had no such problems with his work as a DC character though. Back in 2006, he played lead character V in V for Vendetta, which was published as a comic book by DC imprint Vertigo. He is arguably the actor whose combined achievement in his Marvel and DC roles is the least flawed, in terms of the success of the movies and the quality of his performance, as both were great - and that's in spite of his Marvel troubles.
