Arguably Jim Carrey's most famous comic book role actually came in a movie based on a Dark Horse character - 1994's The Mask - but he's also appeared in both a DC offering and a Marvel offering. His DC role came in the form of Batman villain the Riddler in Batman Forever a year after The Mask. He was actually one of the only reasons the movie wasn't completely and utterly horrible. He also played Sal Bertolinni AKA Colonel Stars and Stripes in Kick-Ass 2, which is based on a comic published by Marvel's Icon imprint. Carrey famously retracted support for the movie prior to its release, due to its overly-violent depiction of guns. Nevertheless, his performance was okay, despite the movie suffering in comparison with its predecessor.
