22 Shots That Completely Ruined The Magic Of Star Wars

4. NEVER Drop Character

Ben Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi was a pargon of poise and almost regal mystique, which was built entirely on the performance offered by Alec Guinness. You would have to suspect that the thespian spent most of his time on set fully committed to his role, ignoring the mischief and tomfoolery of his fellow cast members on set, to preserve the sanctity of his character and to uphold his method, but apparently, not even Guinness was safe from the cheap thrills of silly posing. Caught between shots, this pin-up-like pose shatters the mythology of Guinness's performance - something that is rarely seen in any of the many, many behind the scenes shots that have emerged since 1977.

3. Luke The Nerd

Luke The Nerd Who would have thought that photobombing was so popular before it became a cultural phenomenon on the back of the rise of social media? Clearly unable to stay in character, Mark Hamill spectacular ruins not only this image, but also any faint whiff of him being a cool, poised character by making himself look like a major dork. It's no revelation that Hamill wasn't half as cool as co-star Harrison Ford, but in playing Luke, he managed to capture something of that essence by proximity. That is, until shots like this reinforced what everyone suspected about him. Next to Ford's picture of cool detachment, Hamill looks tragically gawky, which perhaps explains why the pair's career trajectories differed so vastly after the Saga ended.
