19. There Aren't Any Magnetic Fields In The Plastic Prison? - X2

When Magneto is captured at the end of the first X-Men and imprisoned in Colonel Stryker's impenetrable plastic prison, he is of course rendered impotent and powerless, and must wait around like a glum Hannibal Lecter, apparently surrounded by iron deficient guards and visitors (he can manipulate the natural iron in blood after all.) But metal isn't the only thing Magneto can manipulate: he's also able, within this film universe to use the Earth's electro-magnetic fields to fly - so how exactly has Stryker managed to turn that off in his prison?

You can't just pick and choose which powers you want to acknowledge.
