Yorgos Lanthimos's second movie with A24, The Killing of a Sacred Deer follows a surgeon (Colin Farrell) who forms a relationship with a vengeful teenager (Barry Keoghan), who wants the surgeon to kill a member of his own family.
Deeply unsettling and gorgeously composed, the film works as both a bracing thriller and a captivating psychological horror, trapping audiences in a situation from which there's seemingly no escape until its final, gut-wrenching twist.
