16. PREDICTED - A Pixar Sequel

Release Date: 18th March, 2022

Pixar's slate in the last decade has tended to mix an increasing number of sequels alongside its original content, so it makes sense that at least one of these dates pencilled in will be home to a franchise movie, but which will it be?

With Monsters Inc's future on Disney Plus, the two most viable options are Toy Story and The Incredibles. The latter, as a superhero story, would easily lend itself to another instalment, not least because the second one brought in $1.2bn. Toy Story 4 will likely outdo that though, and Pixar have said they'd be interested in exploring more of that world beyond Woody, so something in that universe is very much a possibility, even if it's not Toy Story 5.

15. PREDICTED - Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

Release Date: 6th May 2022

Had things gone to plan, then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would be arriving in May 2020. James Gunn's firing delayed the film indefinitely, but now that he has been rehired (in news almost as stunning as his firing), it looks like the delay might not be too long after all.

While Gunn is working on The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros, it was recently reported by THR that he'd go into production on Guardians 3 at some point in 2020, which is earlier than expected. Still, given he'll likely be tied up with The Suicide Squad for the first few months of the year, it'll likely be later in 2020 by the time the cameras get rolling. That'll give Gunn plenty of time to get it right, and as one of Marvel's biggest ongoing franchises, putting this in the prime May slot in 2022 seems a good bet (although if there's even an outside chance of it being ready for May 2021 instead, you can bet Marvel will look to take it).

As for the plot, it's believed that this will tie up the Guardians' story, and after Endgame it looks like that will include the search for Gamora (who is from 2014), while Thor may still be along for the ride.
