24 Confirmed New Disney Films (& 24 Rumoured) Coming 2020-27

42. PREDICTED - Black Widow

Black Widow
Marvel Studios

Release Date: 1st May 2020

Marvel’s M.O. used to be that it announced its vast slate years in advance, with each Phase more or less mapped out long before we got there. With the secrecy around Endgame, however, things have shifted in that regard, and Marvel haven’t yet confirmed what will be hitting each release date they’ve staked out beyond this summer’s Far From Home.

Still, we can make some educated guesses, and all signs point to 2020’s first MCU offering being the Black Widow solo movie. It’s already quite far along in development, having tapped Cate Shortland and Jac Schaeffer to direct and write respectively last year. The film will star Scarlet Johansson, although it will be a prequel, likely detailing some of that red in her ledger mentioned in Age of Ultron. David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, and Florence Pugh are among the exciting names reported to be joining the cast of the film, which will kick off Phase 4.

41. Artemis Fowl

Artemis Fowl Ferdia Shaw
Disney

Release Date: 29th May, 2020

Major studios have been chasing that Harry Potter dollar for years now and while there have been notable failures - like the Percy Jackson movies and even Disney's attempts to adapt Narnia - but that won't let any of them stop. And the Artemis Fowl books - though a little non-conventional for a Disney story - could be the key.

The film has been moved into a February slot, which might be setting off all sorts of alarm bells, but the trailer doesn't look bad (a little weird, but not bad) and it might well use the lesser competition in February to its advantage. And it's made by Kenneth Branagh, so you know there IS quality behind it.
