22. The Walk (71%)
Predicted Critical Consensus: "While the 3D gimmick may strike some viewers as distasteful, The Walk benefits from Joseph Gordon-Levitt's committed performance and Robert Zemeckis' visually stunning direction." There are a number of suspect elements working against Zemeckis' film, namely that a brilliant documentary on the subject (James Marsh's Man on Wire) already exists, and secondly, that the use of 3D to creative vertiginous glimpses of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers seems a little crass in a post-9/11 world. Though these issues will surely put a sizeable dent in the reviews, and it's probably going to miss out on any major awards honours as a result, expect the film to still receive solid reviews for Gordon-Levitt's work and Zemeckis' craft, which even in his very worst films is usually up to scratch. There will be some heavy qualifications and the reviews will probably mostly be three-star, but it won't quite be the disaster that many are anticipating.
