25 Astonishingly Dumb 21st Century Film Oscar Wins

Beat: Frankenweenie, ParaNorman, The Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists and Wreck It Ralph.

Should've Won: Wreck It Ralph.

Here we have what is honestly the stupidest Best Animated Feature win to date.

Brave is perhaps the single most mediocre and shrug-inducing Pixar film to date; it's a tiresome and jumbled mess of a movie in which nothing much actually happens and it even being nominated is bad enough, but it then beating not one, not two, not three but four superior films to the Oscar makes it ten times worse.

Of course, Disney's heart-warming and extraordinarily effective Wreck-It-Ralph is the film everyone wanted to win, but any of the other nominees - even the slightly hit-or-miss The Pirates - would've been a far, far more deserving winner than the testament to cinematic mediocrity that is Brave.

It must've won because it's a Pixar film. That's the only logical explanation as to how the hell this happened, for Brave wasn't super popular at the time and has left absolutely no impact since. The only times most people even mention it is to complain about it winning this Oscar, in fact.
