7. Thor's Hammer (Iron Man 2)

At the end of Iron Man 2, in the obligatory post-credits scene, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson is seen reporting a discovery to his superiors at the bottom of a crater in the deserts of New Mexico. After we hear him say "we found it", the camera pans to a large hammer, which fans of Marvel comic books instantly recognised as that belonging to Thor - the incredibly powerful Mjolnir. It was the first hint audiences had been given regarding the coming of the Asgardian hero to the big screen - a character who is now, of course, an established figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in the Avengers team.
