Robert Rodriguez€™s homage to Invasion Of The Body Snatchers was penned by Scream scribe Kevin Williamson, so, it stands to reason the script would riff off tropes commonly used in horror.

Granted, there€™s the standard self-aware dialogue referencing everything from The X-Files to Terminator 2, but what you might not have known was the identity of one of the school€™s professors. Glimpsed briefly in a scene in the teacher€™s lounge, the red-haired chap in spectacles sharing a moment with Nurse Harper (Salma Hayek) and Professor Furlong (Jon Stewart) is none other than Harry Knowles - the first famous movie blogger.

The Austin-based website Ain€™t It Cool News took off in a big way in 1996, with the film buff making friends with some of his biggest heroes, including Rodriguez, and finding doors opened to him that weren't before, and which would never be offered to lowly bloggers now. As the film was shot in the Texas city, he was roped in for a surprise cameo - catching the attention of anyone familiar with the behemoth that is AICN and scoring the film some unlikely cool points.
