25 Greatest Easter Eggs From The Last 20 Years Of Horror

13. Land Of The Dead

What bigger a gift could a film fan ask for, than to appear in a movie itself? It€™s a lifelong dream for some to be immortalised as the Guy Who Gets Hits By A Car, or the Impatient Person In A Lift, and the opportunity is even more gold-edged if it comes from a genuine icon of the film-making world.

Two of George Romero€™s biggest supporters were given that opportunity thanks to their own dedication to their idol. But rather than playing dodgy, superfluous cameos - they were snarling, beautifully made up zombies. As a pat on the back for their work on zombie send-up Shaun Of The Dead, Romero commended Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright and invited them to take a role in his next undead instalment, Land Of The Dead.

Their moment in the gloom is brief, clocking in at around fifteen seconds, with the pair chained up as €œphoto booth€ zombies patrons can pay to have their snap taken with - because that kind of monster abuse has always gone down without any hitches.
