#23 - $987 million (and counting) Based on the expectations of some analysts, Jurassic World, which at the time of writing is passing the coveted billion dollar mark, may finish its run passing $2 billion. The long thought dead franchise just got a serious shot in the arm! Despite two disappointing sequels, there's still a lot of love for Jurassic Park, so Colin Trevorrow's movie was always expected to perform well. No one guessed that it would shatter the records set by The Avengers just three years ago though, and it has since set a series of brand new achievements (including being the movie responsible for Pixar not debuting one of their releases at the #1 spot for the first time in their lengthy history). While critics have taken aim at the weak characters and story, it turns out that none of that is particularly important to moviegoers happy to sit back and watch dinosaurs tearing up a theme park! That doesn't mean it's not still an issue though, and the inevitable Jurassic World 2 will have to improve upon those issues if it hopes to be as good as the number this movie will ultimately have in the list of Top 25 highest grossing movies. Like Jurassic Park before it, Jurassic World has quickly chomped up any and all of its box office rivals.
