#25 - $970.8 million It's strange in some ways to see a non-Disney animated movie find its way into the Top 25 highest grossing movies of all-time, but success overseas helped Despicable Me 2 come very close to $1 billion. Earning $368 million in North America and an additional $602 million from overseas, it was beaten only by Iron Man 3 and Frozen at the box office in 2013. Seeing as the movie had plenty of laughs, a lot of heart, and some inventive visuals though, Despicable Me 2 is just as worthy of a place on this list as any effort from Disney. However, it's still a long way off from rivalling their output (Pixar or otherwise), and seeing as parents aren't as taken by Minions as their kids, it lacks that all round appeal. With a budget of $76 million, the film made history by becoming Universal's most profitable venture in their 100 year-plus history as well, so it's no wonder that a spinoff is set to be released focusing solely on the Minions. If that succeeds, they have a whole new franchise!
