25 Incredible Star Wars Concept Art Designs You Need To See
18. Alternative Grievous Designs
Lots of versions of General Grievous were envisioned during the pre-production of Revenge Of The Sith, including, most bafflingly, a child on a floating throne flanked by two IG-series droids.
The middle one here is one of the coolest. Here, Grievous is brandishing slick white armour, looking more like a humanoid warrior than the insect-like creature he became in the final film.
Grievous' face is shielded by two ear-like protrusions, his heart tucked safely behind his armour.
The shield is the sweetest addition. Presumably able to block lightsabers, the use of a shield for the first time in Star Wars live-action combat would have changed Grievous' duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode III from an all-out light show to maybe something slower and more tactical.
Admittedly, seeing the General use four lightsabers at once, treasures of Jedi he'd killed, was pretty neat.
