Skull Island is currently scheduled to debut on 10 March 2017. In a spirit of all-American showmanship Carl Denham might be proud of, the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando, Florida is beating them to the punch. The film's tie-in ride is being launched with much beating of Kong's chest in summer 2016, promising tourists the chance to "navigate perilous jungle" and "explore ancient temple structures" before coming face to face with the big banana himself - presumably in animatronic form. The original Universal theme park in LA first installed a Kong ride in 1986, based on the 1976 film; it currently stages a safari ride with 3D footage based on the 2005 Peter Jackson version (see below). The 1970s film now just plays as a period piece; Jackson's film has been taken to heart by many of the public, who see it as the only King Kong. The gap between the two leaves a vast chasm for Skull Island to fill€
