25 Mind-Blowing James Bond Facts You Need To Know
6. It Was Chaos To Make No Time To Die
No Time to Die was delayed for three years, which is the biggest delay in the entire franchise.
When the original director, Danny Boyle, dropped out, Edgar Wright was considered. Just like Ant-Man, Wright pulled out of the project and was replaced by Cary Joji Fukunga; the first American to direct a Bond film.
The film was delayed so much, the actors were getting impatient as they were losing potential work in other projects. When Daniel Craig wasn't sure whether he was coming back, many actors were considered to replace him including Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and Charlie Hunnam.
Christoph Waltz nearly didn't return as Blofeld. If he walked away, the character would have been played by Andy Serkis.
The writers admitted that it was a nightmare to write the script, as “with people like Trump, the Bond villain has become a reality.”
All of these delays caused the budget to swell to $250 million. Also, three explosions accidentally went off while shooting an action scene, which wasted millions of dollars.
These problems and delays don't guarantee the film will suck, though.
It can't be worse than Die Another Day, right?
