Throughout the years, nearly every celebrity under the sun has been rumoured to play a role in a Bond film. At one point, Penelope Cruz, Rihanna, Sia, and Kim Kardashian were believed to be playing Bond girls.

David Bowie was meant to play Zorin in A View To A Kill but turned it down because the script was "too dreadful."

Anthony Hopkins was cast as Elliot Carver in Tomorrow Never Dies. Hopkins walked out after three days because he found the production too chaotic and he was frustrated that there wasn’t a complete script.

In SPECTRE, Christoph Waltz was revealed to be Blofeld (which won the award for the World's Most Obvious Twist). However, the role was supposed to go to Gary Oldman. It was also rumoured that Richard Kiel and Geoffrey Holder would reprise their roles as Jaws and Baron Samedi respectively. Sadly, both actors died before they could film their scenes.

Weirdly, Sean Connery was believed to be playing the villain in Octopussy. The role in Kincade in Skyfall was written for Connery but Albert Finney was ultimately cast.

In the unofficial Bond film, Never Say Never Again, the final scene would have Bond, who was played by Sean Connery, bumping into Roger Moore. Since the actors were friends, Connery and Moore wanted to shoot this scene but the director refused.
