The very idea of him turning his imaginative, pain-stakingly precise eye to the shores of Dunkirk is a mouth-watering prospect like few others. He's got the power of IMAX behind him too - and combining all of that with the war genre's suitability to epic spectacle, Dunkirk looks like it could be the most exciting cinematic experience of the entire year.

Naturally, the cast is great (including one Harry Styles), but the story and Nolan's ability to tell it will be far more key to this matching its hype.
