Billed As: Brad Pitt and Netflix combine for the streaming platform's first real attack on cinemas with a take on General Stanley McChrystal's attempt to end the war in Afghanistan. Think yourself lucky it's not an Adam Sandler vehicle.

Hype: This will mark the first big release by Netflix to be duel-positioned online and in cinemas the same day, which is interesting in itself. It helps that they've got Brad Pitt leading an excellent cast - also including Sir Ben Kingsley, Scoot McNairy, Will Poulter and Tilda Swinton - and a great story to tell.

The idea of Pitt starring as a U.S. General in command of NATO forces in Afghanistan attacked by a journalist's profile of him is excellent, and the backdrop should provide director David Michod with ample opportunities for biting satire.
