Hype: The major distinguishing feature of The Equalizer 2 is that it's the first sequel of Denzel Washington's entire career, and while few will be expecting anything more than a down-the-line genre movie, it actually looks pretty solid.

With an R rating and Antoine Fuqua returning to direct while Pedro Pascal joins the cast, this should deliver unpretentious, brutal entertainment with Washington bringing his usual steely charm to the table.
