25 Most Memorable Moments Of The Jurassic Park Saga (So Far)

24. Enter The Pterodactyl (Jurassic Park III)

Jp3 Pterodactyl When the protagonist group of Jurassic Park III attempt to reach a barge docked in a nearby river, with the hopes of escaping the island, they are forced to pass through a massive covered area. As Eric, the young boy who had been alone on the island for eight weeks, crosses a bridge in the covered area, a sudden impact on the other side of the bridge (the view of which is blocked by thick fog) shocks him and Alan Grant soon realises they're in a "bird cage" (or giant aviary). The aviary houses pterodactyls - one of which caused the impact on the bridge and it emerges from the fog to attack Eric. It grabs Eric and drops him off in its nest for its babies to eat but, using a para-glider he'd managed to salvage, Billy tries to rescue Eric from a nest and is attacked by several adults. He plunges into the river as they continue to attack him, seemingly killing him.
