14. Rotating Hallway Fight - Inception (2010)
If one were to sum up Inception in one word it would be:
Bwwwwaaaaaaammmnn!!! There's good reason it's in the soundtrack; it's also the noise one's mind makes when watching this stunning and layered film. If one were to pinpoint the actual moment the viewers mind falls out of their skull, it would be right around when Arthur (Joseph Gordon Levitt) begins walking on the walls of the hotel. The reasoning is that in the last dream they are falling in a van over a bridge, thus messing with the physics in the next dream. JGL uses this opportunity of anti-gravity to kick some hotel projection butt. Even though his sick moves were included in the trailers and promotional videos, its still amazing to watch in the context of the film. If this dream within a dream sequence wasnt enough to blow your mind, there is another layer slathered on top of that scene. Considering it was all done practically, with little digital effects. Nolan went old school and constructed a revolving set that could be controlled manually. For a contemporary film, its quite bold. And did I mention mind-bending?
