12. Bullet Time - The Matrix (1999)
Its difficult to think of another moment in sci-fi history that has been parodied as much as bullet time in The Matrix. Its easy to argue that bullet time as it came to be known, and other aspects of the film, made a cultural impact felt through the late ninties/early naughties, or some might just remember how silly it looked when parodied. But there was a clear reason it was parodied so much. It was very captivating, visually impressive and just plain cool. Im of course referring to Neos (Keanu Reeves) newfound ability to dodge bullets with bending the time and space in The Matrix. It was a very fresh idea that bent our minds in a very entertaining way. While most of these moments on the list give us the willies (which is still a welcomed form of entertainment) this moment bent our minds in a very fun way and left us wanting more. More enough to warrant two sequels is best left to another article.
