25 Predictions For Summer 2016's Rotten Tomatoes Scores
7. Ghostbusters (57%)
Predicted Critical Consensus: "Though not writer-director Paul Feig's strongest collaboration with Melissa McCarthy, Ghostbusters is a mostly entertaining, if decidedly uneven, reboot of the beloved franchise." Ghostbusters is without question one of the toughest movies to predict this year: it could easily be a total flop which fails to exploit the essence of Ghostbusters, or it could be a riotously entertaining comedy that reinvents the series for a new generation. Or there's a third, perhaps more likely option: it's just OK. The film has enough nay-sayers already, and so it follows that some of them will be film critics too: they'll appreciate what the film's trying to do, but perhaps find it trying too hard, or find the all-female angle disingenuous. It's a tough one, but we'll go with the film being decent, yet not great.
