25 Predictions For Summer 2016's Rotten Tomatoes Scores
3. Ben-Hur (12%)
Predicted Critical Consensus: "A sacrilegious adaptation of the 1959 classic, the new Ben-Hur is inferior in every way, and is most certainly a (chariot) ride not worth taking." It's hard to imagine many turning out for this remake, or rather, re-adaptation of the 1880 source novel, considering that historical epics are a crap shoot as far as box office is concerned, it stars an actor most people haven't heard of (Jack Huston), and nobody really asked for it considering how well the last one has aged. In addition, director Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) is wildly hit-and-miss, and aside from the presence of Morgan Freeman, there's pretty much nothing to be intrigued by here. If it isn't the worst-reviewed blockbuster of the summer, it'd be a huge surprise.
