25 Predictions For This Summer's Rotten Tomatoes Scores

16. Mission: Impossible 5 (71%)

Predicted Critical Consensus: "A finely-tuned summer blockbuster thrill-ride, Mission: Impossible 5 reaffirms Tom Cruise's star status in the lead role, while boasting a wealth of outrageous action." Though it's impossible not to think about the recent production issues the movie has had (where parts of the ending reportedly had to be retooled due to being unsatisfactory), Paramount must be incredibly confident in Tom Cruise's fifth time up to bat as awesome super-spy Ethan Hunt, considering that they moved the release date up from Christmas Day (where it would face stiff competition from Star Wars: The Force Awakens) to July 31st. While it's tough to judge the movie's potential quality because there's no trailer to speak of yet, it'd be a surprise if, with such a drastic push forward, the movie was anything less than a rock solid action flick, even if it's unlikely to reach the highs of the previous movie, which rocks an impressive series-best score of 93%. At around 71%, M:I5 would be perfectly middle-of-the-road for the series, likely slotting in ahead of the original movie (60%) and on par with or just behind the third film (70%).
