25 Predictions For This Summer's Rotten Tomatoes Scores

9. Fantastic Four (46%)

Predicted Critical Consensus: "Though a slight improvement upon the series that preceded it, Fantastic Four fails to make the most of its solid performances and spectacular special effects." The original 2005 Fantastic Four movie scored just 27%, while the sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer, managed a mild improvement with 37%, with neither doing much to sell these characters to audiences, such that director Josh Trank will be fighting an uphill struggle trying to make this gritty reboot work. While it's almost certainly going to be better than either of those films, it's just hard to get excited about a movie which will likely be well-acted and competently directed, but just...not very interesting. There's also the possibility from what's been seen so far that it will take itself far too seriously, which when you're dealing with a monstrous rock formation and a dude who can stretch himself, is just utterly ridiculous.
