25 Predictions For This Summer's Rotten Tomatoes Scores

3. Pan (54%)

Predicted Critical Consensus: "Unquestionably well-made but sure to prove controversial with purists, Pan benefits from a show-stealing turn from Hugh Jackman even if it's often too dull to truly satisfy." It would be a huge shock if Joe Wright's update of the classic Peter Pan story was to most critical and audience tastes, given the rather radical changes made to iconic characters (namely Tiger Lily being whitewashed). Even so, a critical drubbing is also pretty unlikely, if only because the movie looks so visually lavish and it seems pre-destined that Hugh Jackman will steal every scene he's in a Blackbeard. Think of it as this year's Maleficent (49%): a well-made, breezily entertaining fantasy flick that just doesn't stick in the mind for long.
