15. Tony Stark Getting Lost/Being Presumed Dead

In Iron Man 3, Tony Stark issued a televised challenge to the Mandarin by inviting him to come to his home address. The Mandarin€™s flunkies showed up the and blew the place to bits, but Tony managed to take out most of the bad guys after accessing his armour. He ended up trapped under the sea by his residence, but managed to free himself and escape the scene.

That was all well and good, but then Tony passed out in his armour and the auto-pilot function (AKA J.A.R.V.I.S.) piloted him to rural Tennessee.

And then the world believed that Tony Stark was dead. Why?! There was no search, no body was found and the immediate assumption was that he'd perished.

Frankly, that was just weird.
