13. Where Were Certain Heroes In Their Allies' Times Of Need?
We know that this is the way it happens in the comics and we know that an Iron Man movie wouldn't be an Iron Man movie if the Hulk was helping and that a Thor movie wouldn't be a Thor movie if Captain America was helping and so on - but the fact is it really doesn't make sense that so many heroes have been left to their own devices when it comes to taking down big threats in this particular universe. We've already seen in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that the presence of a single dot of energy from the Bifrost was enough for a S.H.I.E.L.D. team to turn up. We already know that Loki doing his thing in Stuttgart was enough for Captain America, Iron Man and Black Widow to be sent to bring him in. We already know that an alien invasion in New York meant utilising Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye... so why did the presence of Malekith's ship and armies of Dark Elves only result in Thor being present? Why did Captain America's big final battle with the Winter Soldier not attract Iron Man or Hawkeye? Why did Iron Man's battle with Aldrich Killian and his Extremis soldiers - which also involved the capture of the U.S. President - not attract S.H.I.E.L.D.'s interest or the assistance of the Hulk? It just seems very weird that certain incidents attract S.H.I.E.L.D.'s interest and the attention of several heroes, while other major incidents are left for individual heroes to deal with.
