25 Things You Didn’t Know About Interview With The Vampire

21. Tom Cruise Had A Specific Set Of Demands

Rumour has it that Cruise was paid ten million dollars to play Lestat: five million less than his asking price at the time, which ended up being made up with a slice of the profits.

However, Cruise also wanted a closed set, resulting in tunnels being constructed between his trailer and some of the external locations the film was shot in. Supposedly, this was so that the clever make-up effects could remain a secret.

Other demands were a little more de rigueur for the diminutive actor, including wearing tall lifts in his boots and having Pitt walking in a ditch or himself standing on a platform to reduce the near four-inch difference in their heights.
