During the shuttle scene, Ripley sings "You Are My Lucky Star", a song which gained popularity from its inclusion in Singin' In The Rain, whilst preparing to blast the alien out into space for good. This was actually an idea from Sigourney Weaver, who felt that the romantic lyrics in the song's chorus were in stark contrast to her relationship with the alien.

Despite the effectiveness of this moment and how much more iconic it is thanks to the song's inclusion, after shooting the scene, 20th Century Fox were unhappy with the decision as it required them to fork out a large sum for the song's rights.
