25 Things You Didn't Know About Ghostbusters

There are loads of deleted scenes in the Ghostbusters, but not all the cutting choices came easy to Ivan Reitman, especially ones involving Slimer, who would become a firm favourite for everyone.

During one forgotten scene, a couple are enjoying their wedding night in a room at the Sedgewick Hotel, when the grooms brand new clock suddenly breaks. After blaming his new wife for the damage, the groom gets out of bed and marches over to the bathroom, only to be confronted by something green and gruesome.

Reitman loved the skit, but unfortunately that's exactly what it was. The director felt that the sequence - now referred to as The Honeymooners - was more like something that you’d see on Saturday Night Live, and totally took the audience out of the moment.
