2. Ares' Injustice Look

Ares design in Wonder Woman very much feels like it owes something to the character's look in Injustice: Gods Among Us, in which his face is visible under his armour, which uses animal bone and horns as a major design feature.

In another link to the character in the game, he also uses telekinesis to throw projectiles at Diana during the final fight between the two, which is pretty much what his special attacks are in Injustice.

As another reference point to Ares' style of fighting, Ares teleports Diana to a reborn vision of the world, born out of mankind's defeat and the death of their world. That messing with her perception feels like it borrows from the technique General Zod pulls on Superman in Man Of Steel when he presents his vision of the death of mankind to shake Supes up.
