25 WTF Moments From Jurassic World

25. It's Set At Christmas...For Some Reason

It's always super-weird when a summer blockbuster sets itself during Christmas, and Jurassic World is no exception. Remember how jarring it was that Shane Black, Mr. Christmas himself, set Iron Man 3 during the Yuletide holiday while you were probably sat watching it in a sweltering hot cinema in May? While most of this film does in fact take place in South America without any discernible sign of snow or Christmas trees, the opening sequence with Zach (Nick Robinson) and younger brother Gray (Ty Simpkins) being dropped off at the ferry port by their parents features Christmas music in a manner most distracting. There's no real reason to set the film during this time, and it's just kinda weird considering that the seasonal setting is then totally abandoned after this brief introduction.
