25 WTF Moments From The Mission: Impossible Franchise

10. J.J. Abrams' Relentless Shaky Cam (Mission: Impossible III)

It's somewhat fashionable to complain about J.J. Abrams' predilection towards lens flare, but frankly, it's the shaky cam that he overdid it with in M:I3. This is especially apparent during a car chase in the final third of the movie, and aside from being wildly unnecessary, it's one of the most headache-inducing uses of the technique in a major Hollywood film. In fairness, this was Abrams' first film after working on TV for years, but even so, for a director who seems so reliable these days, this was an ill-advised creative choice in his first time up to bat.
