25 WTF Moments From The Mission: Impossible Franchise
19. Limp Bizkit Recorded The Theme Song (Mission: Impossible II)
It's insane to think nowadays that Limp Bizkit ever had anything to do with this franchise, but indeed, they recorded a contemporary spin on Lalo Schifrin's Mission: Impossible theme for the second movie, titled, "Take A Look Around". A Mission: Impossible-style music video was even filmed for the song, and though the series seems pretty much above this sort of commercial tie-in these days, it's just strange that a band as heavy as Fred Durst's outfit were ever employed to record a song to commemorate the series. Then again, it was a John Woo movie, so all bets were off. It's not a bad song by any means, but it's easy to see why some purists took umbrage with the iconic theme being reworked in such an extreme way.
