In what's probably the series' most grotesque and unpleasant moment, Hunt and his team recover his former protegee, Lindsey Farris (Keri Russell), who was captured while investigating Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman). She soon enough complains of a headache, and Hunt realises that an explosive pellet has been implanted inside Lindsey's head. Before he can remove it, it explodes, killing her abruptly, and causing her to end up looking disturbingly disfigured. It's a deeply unsettling death, all the more so because Russell's usually so attractive, and to see her uglied up like this only makes it all the more stomach-churning.
